pastel.cloud · opening soon

Your data.
Actually yours.

We've been building a workspace for your files, sheets, photos and notes, and the lid is almost off. Everything you put inside is sealed on your own device before it goes anywhere, so the only people who can open it are the ones you invite. We can't open it either. That's the whole idea.

First a quick email to confirm it's you, then one when we open. Every email has a way out.

What's in the box

Four everyday tools that share one private home.

The things you already use a cloud for, made to work together. Each one keeps your work on your device first and seals it before it syncs. Lift a lid.

Sidekick comes along

An assistant inside your sheets and notes. It starts switched off, asks before it reads anything, and never hands your work to a new service without saying so.

“I can add a monthly total column to Budget 2027. Want me to?”
Why it's built this way

Most clouds can read what you store. They promise not to.

We built Pastel Cloud so that we can't. Here is what that means for you, day to day.

It lives with you

Your work is kept on your own device first. It opens instantly, keeps working on a plane or a bad train connection, and catches up with your other devices when you're back online.

It's sealed before it leaves

The contents of everything you make are encrypted on your device before they upload. Our servers carry and store boxes we can't open. We can't reset your key, because we never see it, so you'll create a recovery passphrase or passkey when you sign up.

You choose who opens it

Share a folder, a sheet or an album with exactly the people you pick, and work on it together in real time. Nobody else gets a copy of the key.

You can always leave

You'll be able to take everything with you in formats other apps can read. Leaving should be dull and easy, and we're building it that way.

Secure like a vault. Warm like a workshop.

Coming with family plans

One home for the family. A private room for everyone in it.

Bring the people you live with under one plan. You share the storage and the albums you choose. Everyone keeps their own private space, and paying for it doesn't come with a key.

One shared pool of storage

Everyone draws from the same space, so nobody runs out while someone else has room to spare. You can see who is using how much.

Pay for people, not bundles

You pay per person in the household, not for a fixed bundle. Extra phones and laptops don't count.

Paying isn't peeking

Whoever holds the plan covers the bill, and that's all. Your partner's notes and your teenager's photos stay theirs.

Share what's meant to be shared

Put the holiday album or the household budget in front of the whole family in one step. Everything else stays where you left it.

Seats for grown-ups, kids and guests. Family plans follow shortly after launch, and prices will be announced then.

The studio companion

Meet Cacti. It keeps the studio, not your secrets.

Cacti has been with us since the first prototype. You'll find it waiting in empty folders, cheering you through setup, and minding the door on launch day. It's good company and a little prickly about privacy, which suits us fine.

Be there when the lid comes off.

Leave your email and we'll write when Pastel Cloud opens to its first members. Early places go to people who care about owning their work, and we'll let them in a few at a time.
